Street-hop has always existed as part of the fabric that makes up a large part of Afrobeats’ substance. Its presence on the Afrobeats soundscape allows the genre to retain its X factor and ingenuity across all levels. Dapper Music, through strategic operations, is successfully creating a pipeline that taps into the raw talent pool in the country and across the continent. With Trench Fest, our artists are bringing the sounds of the trenches to the forefront of the Afrobeats genre in a show of premium entertainment and celebration of the Street-hop community.
The first Trench Fest show in December 2023 marked the start of a new era in Afrobeats entertainment. A stacked lineup of some of Afrobeats’ biggest artists put on a memorable show for the audience at The Palms in Lagos. A capacity crowd sang along to every note that came from the microphone of the stars of the night, with Seyi Vibez, Zlatan, Shallopopi, Balloranking, Bhadboi OML, LAX and much more giving the fans their money’s worth with a series of electric performances. As the show reached its crescendo, the importance of the celebration and documenting an important sub-culture in the Afrobeats space became apparent to all present. The music speaks to the people, and it is essential to connect with them.
Our efforts to spread the gospel of the trenches takes us to Ibadan Polo Club on the 11th of April 2024. The Ibadan leg of Trench Fest is sure to witness the best of the best out of Nigeria, with everyone’s favourite artists ready to share their catalogues with the audience. In addition to our flagship artists, we have more elite acts slated to grace the stage this Thursday with Ice Prince, Dremo, Skiibii, Kashcoming, Minz and our new signee Lasmid set to join the lineup. For this edition of Trench Fest we’re taking it up a notch with a more delicately curated experience by Dapper Live and its extensive list of partners. It promises to be a great show and you don’t want to miss it.
